This and that

A couple of weeks ago I spent a wonderful weekend as a guest tutor at Hope and Elvis,  Louise Presley's amazing and inspiring studio. It was lovely to spend time in the company of such lovely ladies and be fed such delicious food! I thought I'd share a taste of the weekend with you. If you'd like to see more, two of the ladies who came to the workshops have written blog posts about it. You can read them here and here.

If you're interested in coming to a workshop with me, I will be at Sew Not Strawberry Jam in Kent on 11th and 12 July and also at Indigo Moon in Montogomery, Powys, Wales on 19th September. I'll also be teaching another workshop in October - I'll tell you about that in my next post.

At the moment I'm busy making for the Selvedge Magazine Spring Fair in Stroud on 16th May, The fair takes place during the annual Stroud International Textile Festival  you can have a look at all the events that are taking place here.

Lastly, I'm putting the finishing touches to my 'Daphne's Glove' piece, This is the second Group Gathering project I've been involved in and it's wonderful to see the progress and the very different approaches of all the artists involved. You can read about it all and see work in progress on the Group Gathering blog and facebook pages.

That's all for now! x

I always look forward to your posts - so much beauty here.....I'm even inspired by your pretty clothes! Did you alter that skirt in the second photo? Do I see embroidery on the waist band?

You create some of the most beautiful pieces I have seen. I hope you don't mind me asking but so you sell any of your artwork?
Wishing you a lovely weekend.

It was a fantastic day, Christine and I am still so happy and so inspired by it! Will see how to deal with the one in Montgomery, I need to make sure that my EG is not on a journey then. Good luck for the Cotswolds and Kent! Very interesting to read about 'Daphne's Glove', I will follow it closely.

It was so lovely doing the workshop with you at Hope and Elvis. I am still working on my little piece of gentle stitching. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
A few photos from the day here on my blog.

Thanks for all of your lovely comments, it's so nice to hear from you!
Thanks Lyn for the link to your blog post about the day - lovely to see your photos.

I am wearing an embroidered apron in the second picture Starr, it reads 'Buttons and patches and the cold wind blowing, the days pass quickly when I am sewing'.

Karen B, I do sell some of my work but I don't have an online shop, I'm afraid. I sell at fairs and at workshops. I have sold direct to people who have contacted me if something is available...

What a fun class that would be to take, so sad I still don't live in England.

Even the clothes you wear are enchantingly artistic! You're such an inspiration to me - I work with most of the elements I see in your work, especially the mother-of-pearl buttons and old lace. My problem is getting the ideas that blossom when I'm inspired by people like you to become reality! I get so tired by the end of the day that I can't seem to even want to open up my sewing box. Sigh. I'm working on it, though! It helps to keep exploring through your blog and Pinterest to keep the torch burning. Thank you!
